Responsibilities:

Northeastern's College of Computer and Information Science is reinventing Computer Science post-graduate education by scaling the Align Program, an innovative Experiential Masters in Computer Science for Non-Computer Science Majors. The motivation to grow Align is to close America's tech diversity gap. Our goal is to reach 1,000 students per year by 2022.

The Program Coordinator will report to the recently hired Managing Director of the Align Program. He/she will assist the Director in developing a network of feeder colleges for recruitment of Align students, develop events/special programs , research potential corporate partners and sponsors, help with outreach to and follow up with potential philanthropic supporters, and assist in the overall tracking of progress towards recruitment, fundraising, and corporate sponsorship goals. As part of this, the Program Coordinator will assist with Align-related events, such as coordinating the launch of two-day summer workshops at four Northeastern campuses across the United States. He/she will be responsible for all aspects of the event including coordinating with all participants including the host institution on room locations, food, and hotel/airfare accommodations and ensuring a smooth launch of the workshop that can be replicated. Furthermore, he/she will help with special events such as Break Into Tech (one of our introductory outreach strategies), student orientation programs, and student group coordination. He/she will provide administrative support to the Managing Director such as calendar management, help with travel, and expense reporting. She/he will assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree required, Master’s preferred. Two to three years of experience in higher education required. Strong communications skills (verbal and writing) and experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook. Strong organizational and critical thinking skills.
