Job Description:

This position provides academic leadership to the Social Sciences Department and serves as an integral member of the College and Campus administrative team. Facilitates learning, quality teaching, scholarship, and services. Provides support and advice in the collective bargaining process, and ensures adherence to relevant areas of any collective bargaining agreement.
Duties & Responsibilities:

•Supervises the development and /or revision of curricula, and implements instructional programs
•Develops course schedules and faculty assignments
•Prepares and maintains departmental budgets
•Manages labs, equipment, and other departmental resources
•Ensures the effective implementation of the faculty advancement processes
•Provides program information and ensures the availability of advisement services for students
•Participates in the development and implementation of College policies, procedures, and guidelines
Minimum Requirements: 

•Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, History , or related discipline from a regionally accredited institution and five (5) years relevant work experience in higher education and /or teaching; or Master’s degree with 18 graduate credits in Social Science, Psychology, History, or related discipline and five (5) years relevant work experience in higher education and /or teaching 
•All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
•Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
•Knowledge and understanding of a wide range of instructional systems development, training methods, techniques and formats
•Knowledge of the requirements of accreditation agencies
