Associate Director - Global Academic Programming

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah is currently seeking an Associate Director - Global Academic Programming for the Office for Global Engagement department.
Under the supervision of the Director of Global Academic Programming, the Associate Director is responsible for select study abroad programming/international travel registration as well as management of events including (but not limited to) the Study Abroad Expo, Dual Language Immersion Fairs, and International Photo Contest. The Associate Director will coordinate student application processes to ensure compliance with university travel policies and advise students on credit transfer, financial aid, and applications. The Associate Director will assist the Director with strategic planning related to Global Academic Programming and Study Abroad and will be available for emergency response for faculty, staff, and students abroad.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a related field plus a minimum of two years of directly related experience OR any combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling six years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of best practices in international study programs management.
  • Skills in communication, listening, writing, and speaking.
  • Skills in the use of computers, standard software programs, and desktop publishing software.
  • Skills in budget management.
  • Skills in marketing, public relations, or advertising.
  • Skills in organization: planning, working on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing, and completing tasks expeditiously.
  • Ability to work both on one’s own and as a team player, with department personnel, and by establishing excellent working relationships with University personnel.
  • Ability to handle student information with confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree preferred.
Second language preferred.
Previous study or work outside the United States.

Physical Requirements:
This position frequently stands, sits, walks, and talks. There is occasional need to climb, bend, twist, kneel, crawl, and reach. Must be able to list between 10-25 pounds and continually see and hear.

Pay Range: $45,914-$61,218
