Job Summary


The Web Programmer develops and maintains web pages for the main College website. Works independently and only requires some general direction (supervision) for the balance of the activities.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Codes, prepares test data, tests, and debugs programs
  • Updates web content on a daily basis
  • Integrates video and photographic content to site
  • Revises and refines programs as required, and documents all procedures used throughout the computer program when it is formally established
  • Writes programs from general specifications with some supervision
  • Coordinates with staff to make sure that content on the site is accurate and current
  • Keeps supervisor informed of progress on a weekly basis
  • Performs other duties as assigned



Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in data processing or related field from a regionally accredited institution and three (3) years of computer programming experience in business, academic applications, or systems programming; or Associate's degree in data processing or related field from a regionally accredited institution and seven (7) years of computer programming experience in business, academic applications, or systems programming; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Working development of web pages for mobile and desktop browsers
  • Possess knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JQUERY, and ASPX
  • Familiarity with client/server and mobile architecture
  • Familiarity with W3C web standards compliance, best programming practices and cross browser testing
  • Familiarity with accessibility and designing web pages that are compliant with Section 508 of the American with Disabilities Act
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills; as well as, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to provide a portfolio of developed sites and technical references
  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and
  • staff
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
