Job Summary


The Email Marketing Coordinator is responsible for distributing, coordinating and tracking email marketing communications for the College. The position works closely with other departments and assists in the drafting of content for College emails.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Reviews emails to ensure MDC brand and style guidelines
  • Provides assistance in preparing ADA compliant email messages and templates
  • Creates new templates for use by College departments in ExactTarget
  • Identifies appropriate photos, graphics and feature content
  • Assists in designing visual graphics elements for email content, as needed
  • Works with departmental marketing staff in leveraging MDC's database of contacts
  • Provides campaigns metrics to internal staff for review
  • Keeps the College abreast of trends and best practices in e-mail marketing and search engine marketing to make campaigns more effective and efficient
  • Performs other duties as assigned



Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study and four (4) years of related experience; or Master's degree in related field
  • All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals, and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Strong copy writing and editing skills
  • Strong visual design skills and knowledge of principles and practices of good graphic design
  • Knowledge of e-mail marketing best practices and adapting print copy for e-mail readability
  • Ability to adhere to in-house brand, style guidelines, and mailing schedule
  • Knowledge of current ADA compliance standards
  • Strong working knowledge in bulk email software such as ExactTarget and other enterprise email service providers
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop or other graphic design and photo editing software
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include weekend and evening assignments
