Position Summary: The School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites nominations and applications for a non-tenure track, open rank twelve-month (1.0 FTE) Field Education/Clinical Instructor Faculty position. This is a one-year appointment, renewable annually based on the School's needs and performance. This position will be available August 1, 2018. Primary Duties Field Education: *Identifying, recruiting, training and developing strong field instructors and placements; *Facilitating and monitoring educational placements to ensure educational quality; *Administration of the field education program including committee work and project management, as assigned; *Service to the School of Social Work academic community. Teaching: *Teaching assignments are based on field education student load and available courses. Assigned courses may include teaching in generalist and or specialty courses and could include an emphasis on direct practice and/or human behavior in the social environment. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Education Requirements: *An MSW degree from an accredited school or university *A minimum of five years of direct, mental health, practice experience working with adults and their families *A minimum of two years' experience supervising or coaching students or other professionals *A minimum of two years teaching, training or facilitation experience *Licensed Clinical Social Worker preferred
Qualification and Experience: The applicant is expected to have a superior record of teaching, experience with research or research collaboration and the ability to integrate research and scholarship into course development and field education assignments. Applicants should have exemplary relationship building skills and knowledge of North Carolina communities is preferred. Prior experience working in social work, field education programs is also preferred.
