We are currently seeking a Development Director who will advance the institution's proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.
You: Innovator. Pacesetter. Agent of change. If you're a tech savvy, process improvement-focused Student Champion with a talent for developing partnerships with communities and individuals, we're looking for you.
Your mission: The Houston Community College Foundation supports HCC in its efforts to attract and educate Houston-area students who have the desire and dedication to learn - including many non-traditional students and those facing barriers to higher education.
As Director of Development, you'll provide principal support to the HCC Foundation by raising funds to benefit HCC students and programs based on the priorities set forth by the Chancellor and the Foundation Board.
Your work: In this role, you'll make a difference by raising funds for scholarships and grants to support HCCS and its students. You will provide fund raising leadership and support for two college presidents and four to five of HCCS' Centers of Excellence to raise funds for scholarships and grants.
You'll participate in prospect research activities, cultivation events and strategy sessions to identify and evaluate prospects. You'll qualify prospects and cultivate potential contributors; design and develop solicitation strategies to match donors' interests; personally solicit gifts; and steward major gift donors. You'll represent the Foundation at various fundraising and other appropriate meetings, and make formal and informal presentations.
When gifts are secured, you'll work with Development staff to establish funds and create recognition and stewardship activities. Creating and presenting major gift proposals and donor communications that highlight the successes of the Foundation's work and HCC student success are also within the scope of this position.
At HCC, we support job-related professional growth that will enable you to advance your career goals, increase institutional effectiveness and improve the quality of our programs and services. You'll discuss with your supervisor the training programs, conferences, courses and/or other relevant professional development activities you plan to participate in throughout the year.
Next steps: If you always have the student experience in the forefront of your planning and execution, if you're a collaborator, an innovator and a person who gets things done, apply today!
Bachelor's degree in Business, Development, Communications or a related field required.
Minimum of eight (8) years of previous experience in work related fund-raising/stewardship programs.
