Overview:

Reporting to the Head Men's BasketballCoach, the incumbent will assist with the successful administration of a highly visible NCAA Division I men's basketball program.

Position Summary:

	Teach and develop sport specific skills and coaching strategies to enhance the athletic performance of student-athletes	Assist with the success of team performance and eligibility criteria	Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of academic progress of team members to enhance graduation rates	Recruit quality student-athletes within the guidelines of the Code of Recruitment	Enforcewritten team rules and expectations including on and off campus conduct	Compliance with NCAA, Mountain West Conference, Athletic Department and University rules and policies andmaintain records as necessary	Participate in the generation and fund raising activities	Cooperative interaction with theTime-Out Booster Club, the general public and the media, while maintaining a professional attitude	Support of the department's commitment to gender equity and diversity	Other duties as assigned by the Head Men's Basketball CoachKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:

	Have strong communication and motivation skills	Demonstrated knowledge of basketball, skills, tactics and strategies	Knowledge of NCAA rules and policies	Coaching philosophy and teaching concepts must be compatible with those of the Head Men's Basketball Coach	Ability to work cooperatively with coaches, staff, faculty, students, and members of the community	Commitment to academic integrity and compliance with University, Mountain West Conference and NCAA regulations	Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and project a professional attitude	Commitment to the recruitment of quality student-athletes	Ability and willingness to support equity and diversity commitments of the departmentEducation and Experience:

	Bachelor's degree from an accredited four year institutionor by an equivalent international institution of higher education	Experience in coaching men's basketball at the collegiate levelPreferred Skills:

	Experience coaching men's basketball at the NCAA Division I level
