Overview:

Reporting to the Head Men's BasketballCoach, the incumbent will assist with the successful administration of a highly visible NCAA Division I men's basketball program.

Position Summary:

&#9;Teach and develop sport specific skills and coaching strategies to enhance the athletic performance of student-athletes&#9;Assist with the success of team performance and eligibility criteria&#9;Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of academic progress of team members to enhance graduation rates&#9;Recruit quality student-athletes within the guidelines of the Code of Recruitment&#9;Enforcewritten team rules and expectations including on and off campus conduct&#9;Compliance with NCAA, Mountain West Conference, Athletic Department and University rules and policies andmaintain records as necessary&#9;Participate in the generation and fund raising activities&#9;Cooperative interaction with theTime-Out Booster Club, the general public and the media, while maintaining a professional attitude&#9;Support of the department's commitment to gender equity and diversity&#9;Other duties as assigned by the Head Men's Basketball CoachKnowledge, Skills &amp;amp; Abilities:

&#9;Have strong communication and motivation skills&#9;Demonstrated knowledge of basketball, skills, tactics and strategies&#9;Knowledge of NCAA rules and policies&#9;Coaching philosophy and teaching concepts must be compatible with those of the Head Men's Basketball Coach&#9;Ability to work cooperatively with coaches, staff, faculty, students, and members of the community&#9;Commitment to academic integrity and compliance with University, Mountain West Conference and NCAA regulations&#9;Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and project a professional attitude&#9;Commitment to the recruitment of quality student-athletes&#9;Ability and willingness to support equity and diversity commitments of the departmentEducation and Experience:

&#9;Bachelor's degree from an accredited four year institutionor by an equivalent international institution of higher education&#9;Experience in coaching men's basketball at the collegiate levelPreferred Skills:

&#9;Experience coaching men's basketball at the NCAA Division I level
