Reporting to Associate Director of Web Applications, the Senior Web Developer supports Temple University's digital strategy requirements and the development of complex Drupal-based web initiatives. This role will sit within the Web Collaboration Center and the primary responsibility of this position will be Temple's Web Strategic Initiative. He or she serves as the technical advisor during the initiation stage of digital marketing projects, including the provision of technical solutions that successfully execute against unique and diverse marketing requests. This individual will inform creative concepts and content strategy, and collaborate with internal/external partners to develop web applications that ensure a coherent user experience across Temple's digital landscape. The Senior Web Developer mentors junior staff members, manages concurrent projects on time and budget, helps set and meet business objectives, as well as works collaboratively and proactively with other team members to deliver highest-quality results. Additionally, this position is dedicated to enhancing the Temple brand and reputation nationally, increasing alumni engagement, and building prospective student awareness and engagement. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of directly related experience with the following: HTML5, CSS3/Sass/LESS, JavaScript/jQuery, AJAX, PHP, MySQL; Drupal or other open source CMS; developing modules or plugins to extend the functionality of a CMS; UX and information architecture design; responsive design and developing for mobile platforms; experience in programming, database design and web security. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills & Abilities: * Expert-level proficiency with the latest version of Drupal, or another open source CMS, with a proven ability to develop custom modules/plugins that extend the CMS' core or contributed functionality. * Proficiency in frontend web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery) and server-side languages (PHP, MySQL). * Proficiency in front-end developer tools/frameworks and leveraging modern technologies for local development (Sass/LESS, Compass, Guard/Grunt/Gulp). * Proficiency with versioning control and code management software. * Proficiency in responsive design and developing for mobile platforms. * Proficiency in cross-site data sharing technologies and languages (REST/SOAP, XML, JSON). * Advanced understanding of ADA requirements for web accessibility, usability concepts, information architecture, UX, UI, browser/platform-specific functionality and security issues. * Good sense of high quality user experience as it relates to web design. * Advanced ability to solve issues through good analytical and problem-solving skills. * Familiarity with integrating social media and web sharing functionality. * Ability to manage concurrent projects in a deadline-oriented environment and follow project schedules closely. * Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with supervisors and colleagues. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and make good independent decisions in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy of work and delivering in a timely manner. * Demonstrated proficiency with current software, hardware and equipment used in the position; willingness and ability to stay up-to-date with upgrades or changes. * Excellent project management, analytic, communication and diplomacy skills. * Must be able to work well under pressure. * Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills including the ability to establish cooperative working relationships with supervisors, colleagues and campus partners. * Superior communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to attend staff events as needed (including occasional nights and weekends).
