Specialist III, Construction Trades Lab Technician-Rebuild Houston 18000216

Position Summary:
Responsible for coordination of all general functions in the Energy and Manufacturing technical laboratories. Provide support services in the operation and maintenance of an academic or research laboratories to Include performing analyses: setup, operation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment: and maintaining stock of supplies. May provide work direction to students using the labs and associate equipment. May also coordinate services between organizations and the public, clients, customers. Duties may include oversight of a program or special group of customers/clients.
Job Functions:  
Supports the faculty in setting up lab exercises and exams
Provides routine lab support Including an aspects of lab safety and preparedness. cleaning, inspection and maintenance of lab classrooms, equipment and supplies
Prepares and Inventories lab supplies
Properly handles and disposes of hazardous waste
Communicates with faculty regarding labs
Keeps current with new technologies and regulations
Maintains professional working relationships both within the System and with outside vendors
Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned


High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Must possess knowledge of basic working techniques or construction trades background, equipment and supplies
