Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
At least 2 years of substantial involvement in research administration is required. UW experience is a plus with demonstrated commitment to working in a collaborative environment. This position requires proven grants management capabilities including grant preparation and electronic submission processes. Ability to work with medical faculty to facilitate research in a large and always expanding research program is required. Familiarity with UW budget and regulatory policies is a plus.
License or certificate:
Research in the Department of Emergency Medicine is growing rapidly. Its investigators are currently involved in multiple translational and clinical research studies that focus on topics such as improving the emergency care of older adults, antimicrobial stewardship and use, and radiographic imaging choices with a focus on reducing radiation exposure. These studies are funded by a variety of sources, including the NIH, AHRQ, foundations, and industry.
This position will be responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing the administrative infrastructure that supports the major research programs of the Department of Emergency Medicine.

- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams of professional staff in the execution of complex work.
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with clinical research, data management, and regulatory reporting.
- In-depth understanding of medical terminology and concepts.
- Strong computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
