Summary of the Position

To provide quality clinical health care triage to the students of Bentley University; to assist students to live up to their academic potential through optimizing their health and wellness. To coordinate and ensure state compliance with immunizations and college compliance with health information; follow-up and coordinate care of students with NP's, MD's and office staff.

Essential Functions

Triage patients who call or present to office with urgent concerns. Provide immunizations; venipunctures, dressing changes, nebulizer treatments and other nursing treatments as necessary. Record and track immunization compliance using the immunization program in the Electronic Medical Record. Post and verify posted immunizations in the Immunization Compliance Program in Medicat system throughout the year for the incoming students. Review Health Forms for clinical information and notify director about students with complex medical issues: Review Health Forms of entering students to record and ensure compliance with Massachusetts's immunization laws.

Follow up on labs as requested. Review labs and assess urgency of results and give results to providers in a timely manner. Ensure department lab is CLIA compliant. Maintain full supply and order medical supplies for exam rooms, immunizations, stock medications, sample medications, nebulizers, and emergency bags. Autoclave instruments as needed, spin lab specimens as needed.

Minimum Qualifications(Education and Experience Requirements)

Bachelor's degree in Nursing; Minimum 3 years adolescent/pediatric experience. 3 years of acute or urgent care and triage experience. Knowledge and experience with immunizations and state requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in higher education setting preferred. Experience in working with Nurse Practitioners.

Physical Demands

The position requires sitting, walking and standing. Occasionally requires the ability to assist a client to stand or walk. The office is equipped with standard medical supplies as needed in a clinical setting. (i.e.exam tables, microscopes, stethoscope etc.).
