Advertised Job Summary
Supervises custodial zone operations for the cleanliness, appearance, safety, and maintenance functions of Facilities Department in the buildings of the University of South Carolina's Columbia campus. Performs backup custodial work when necessary.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
High school diploma and 3 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified with one year of supervisory experience.
Driver's License required.Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of how to properly carry out custodial tasks. Knowledge of custodial standards and requirements. Knowledge of safety practices relevant to the area of employment. Knowledge of inventory control. Some knowledge of personnel, procurement, and budgeting practices in state government. Knowledge of the concepts and techniques of on-the-job training. Ability to keep accurate written records. Ability to prioritize and make the optimal use of personnel, materials and equipment. Ability to plan, direct and review the work of subordinates. Ability foster a cooperative work environment. Ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate.
