Data Management Specialist

Job description

The Sanders-Brown Center on Aging is looking for a self-motivated person to perform a wide variety of data management, programming, entry, analysis and reporting functions including coordinating all aspects of clinical research data entry for Alzheimer's Disease research, related studies, and select clinical trials.

The position will work closely with the Data Management Team, clinical staff, faculty, and researchers to effectively and efficiently meet their data reporting and quality control needs. This position will be responsible for assisting in the facilitation of research data requests, providing data snapshots and summaries to researchers in a timely fashion, maintaining data quality and integrity.

The position will support the administration of the SharePoint data collection platform and provide both support and training for clinic and aplicable staff. This position will also be responsible for preparing research data for submission to the National Alzheimer's Disease Coordinating Center (NACC), which will include using NACC's web data entry system to upload, error check, and finalize data forms. This position will also be responsible for maintaining the clinical biospecimens database, including relevant transaction data on all biospecimen collection records.

Data entry responsibilities will include processing clinical data, participant status, neuropath, and autopsy registration forms. Position requires extensive knowledge of data management, proficiency with SQL, MS Access, and MS Excel. SAS experience a plus.

May require long periods of sitting or standing; archiving activities require lifting, pushing, and pulling boxes and file cabinets.


Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm


The qualified candidate should be proficient in utilizing the MS SQL, MS Access and MS Excel platforms for data entry/management.
