Position Summary: The University of Alabama College of Education Department of Kinesiology Adapted Athletics Program Position: Clinical Lecturer (Non-Tenure Track) - Adapted Sports Assistant Coach This position is for an Adapted Sports Assistant Coach in the Department of Adapted Athletics at The University of Alabama. This person will report directly to the Director of Adapted Athletics at The University of Alabama and will be responsible for assisting the head coach in an assigned adapted sport setting in planning and executing daily practices, planning training sessions, assisting with budgeting, event planning, team travel and film review. This person will be expected to attend all practices, training sessions, and events with their respective team. The person in this position will likely supervise student workers and interns, assist in recruiting and retention of student athletes and public outreach and awareness. This is a full-time position for one academic year period with the possibility of renewal, contingent upon satisfactory performance, departmental needs and funding availability.
Minimum Preferred Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: * A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required. *Adapted sport coaching and/or playing experience in wheelchair basketball, wheelchair tennis, sit volleyball and/or adapted power lifting. Preferred Qualifications: * At least 5 years Adapted Sport Coaching or Playing Experience at the Collegiate Level or Paralympic level *Experience coaching in ONE or more of the following areas: Wheelchair Basketball, Wheelchair Tennis, Adapted Power lifting, or Sit Volleyball
