Responsibilities

The coordinator will assist in providing professional development in literacy instruction to 5th grade classroom teachers. The coordinator will also schedule and conduct classroom observations and supervise a group of observers working in Hillsborough County Public Schools. The coordinator will also:
- Meet with participating teachers as needed to provide support and professional development;
- Train and provide support to observers as needed;
- Conduct periodic reliability checks with observers using study tools in the field;
- Spend the majority of the work week in the participating Hillsborough County public schools supporting project observers and participating teachers.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or related field.
Knowledge of literacy and language instruction/intervention.
Experience working in an educational setting in coaching, mentoring, and/or organizational capacity.

Preferred

Teaching experience in an elementary school setting.
Experience working on a research project.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.
Experience using fillable PDFs and Excel.

Other Information

On a daily basis the coordinator will travel to one or more participating Hillsborough County Public Schools. In addition, the coordinator may be asked to travel to Tallahassee at least one time for training.

Anticipated Salary Range

$22/hour

Pay Plan

This is an OPS/temporary Job.

Soft Money Funded Position

This position is time-limited based on soft money funding, with renewal contingent upon available funds and the needs of the University.

Schedule

Approximately 35 hours per week to match school schedules. The duration of the position will be from approximately late July 2018 through early April 2019.

Criminal Background Check

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check, to include fingerprinting. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
