The Pennsylvania State University is committed to ensuring that diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to the success of a world-class research institution. We are concerned uniquely with the institutional change required for visioning and realizing a more socially just university. Reporting to the Assistant Vice Provost for Educational Equity, the Director of Assessment is responsible for supporting and advising the Office of the Vice Provost for Educational Equity regarding assessment and evaluation (and while engaging diversity, equity, and inclusion at Penn State). The Director of Assessment will apply expertise in the areas of diversity in higher education, research, and assessment, to programs, policy review, sponsored grants (e.g., Equal Opportunity Planning Committee), services, and strategic planning in the Office of Educational Equity; and will collaborate with and assist colleagues in operationalizing goals and evaluating impact in support of the University's “Statement on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.” We expect the Director to consult on University and college projects, deliver workshops and presentations, and assist in the communication of assessment results. The Director of Assessment will administer the above mentioned grant program by helping colleagues write proposals, soliciting and reviewing the proposals, disbursing funds, and coordinating the evaluations of programs; documenting and organizing all phases of the sponsorship to ensure compliance. The Director of Assessment will work with unit leaders and others to create goals and assessment plans, and measure the impact of diversity programs and interventions. In addition to working closely with the Multicultural Resource Center, Student Disability Resources, the Office of Veterans Programs, and the Penn State Office of Planning and Assessment; the Director of Assessment will assist the Assistant Vice Provost and Equity Consultants with special projects. At minimum, interested applicants should possess assessment expertise, attention to detail, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
