Facilitates the composite manufacturing operations of the Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI) Scale-Up Facility (SUF) through operation of processing equipment to fabricate prototype components. Includes pre-processing, auxiliary/secondary equipment, injection and compression molding, and any post processing required. Additional duties associated with general day to day operation and maintenance of the facilities, as required. Possession of a valid Michigan vehicle operator's license may be necessary. Possession or attainment of MSU Forklift operator's permit prior to completion of applicable probation or trial period. Frequent lifting of over 75 pounds is required. Must drive University vehicle to perform job duties of this classification.Desired Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent, Knowledge and demonstrated skills with associated tools for hydraulics, electronics, pneumatics, mold plumbing and other technical areas associated with large manufacturing equipment; Minimum 2 years experience in the operation and maintenance of large scale hydraulic presses used for forming, stamping or molding; "Hands on" experience in a production environment and other technical areas associated with large manufacturing equipment; Experience in injection molding and compression molding of composites highly preferred; Good collaborative, teamwork and interpersonal skills.Required Application Materials
