Position Summary

Manage the activities related to the concession operations at the following MSU athletic and multi-purpose facilities: Spartan Stadium, Munn Ice Arena, Breslin Center, Agricultural Pavilion, Olympic Event sites, and MSU Union food court; Recruits, trains, supervises and schedules employees and service group organizations, handles procurement of food and supplies, assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures, and insures departmental operations standards are met; Monitors financial reports to insure budget expectations are met; Assists in the development and execution of marketing and advertising; Coordinates new product development and updates Convivial product recipe pricing. 

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical, or vocational school in a field related to the area of responsibility; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in supervising operational activities related to the area of employment; OR knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in a field related to the area of responsibility; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in supervising operational activities related to the area of employment including supervision of multiple concession operations at medium to large facilities with attendance ranging from 5,000 - 75,000 guests; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in management of multiple concession facilities; knowledge and experience in coordinating the preparation and stocking of multiple concessions stands, general food production, food service sanitation, catering, human resources, ordering of supplies/materials, budget analysis/projections, and preparation of financial reports; experience in food court operations, cash accounting, register operations, and marketing promotions and incentive sales; experience in recruitment, training, and scheduling of student work force and Service group organizations.

Work Hours

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday: hours are variable to include weekends and evenings.
