Brief Summary of Work for this Position:
Position is a maintenance position that performs work normally associated with plumbing.
N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require special licenses or certification.
Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position:
Must have a working knowledge of the North Carolina Plumbing and Building Codes
Must possess general working knowledge of gas, water, sanitary sewage and other utility maintenance
Must be skillful in the assembly of all types of pipes; cutting, threading, silver soldering, priming, gluing, layout and installation
Must have the ability to install pipe insulation, rebuild pumps and replace motors
Must have strong practical skills and knowledge in plumbing
Preferred education, professional skills and experience:
NC Plumbing license preferred
Five (5) years of progressive experience in plumbing maintenance trade environment.
Technical or trade school training may be substituted at one year of training for two (2) years of experience to meet minimum experience requirements.
Certifications or licensure required to perform the essential functions of the position:
Valid NC Drivers License or be able to obtain one within thirty days of hiring
Recruitment Range: 35,298-37,486
NC Salary Grade Equivalency: 65
Hours Per Week: 1.0 (40 hours per week)
Months Per Year: 12 Months
Work Days: Monday - Friday
Work Hours: 7:00AM - 4:00PM and every third weekend
