The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure academic-clinician track. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and clinical care.

We are initiating a national search to identify candidates for the Associate Chair for Education position in the Department of Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). The individual assuming this position will be responsible for guiding the education programs in the Department, including undergraduate medical education, graduate medical education, faculty education, and faculty development as educators. The individual will be expected to optimize the integration of education programs across the Department and to establish a strategic direction for education in alignment with the Department mission and vision. The ideal candidate will be an established educator and leader, will have a track record in education and program evaluation, will be an excellent communicator, will be an innovative thinker, and will be capable of promoting collaborative initiatives with other departments at CHOP. This individual will also serve as the Associate Designated Institutional Official at CHOP and will play a key role in assuring compliance with appropriate external medical education regulatory bodies, including the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and the American Board of Pediatrics. Additional responsibilities will include serving as a member of the Department of Pediatrics Committee on Appointments and Promotions and the Department of Pediatrics Executive Committee. This individual will be assigned an endowed chair (funded through CHOP) to support education initiatives and will be appointed to the faculty of the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. The individual will devote the balance of his/her effort in the clinical division of his/her specialty or subspecialty.
