General Summary: The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Health Informatics - Fall 2018.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • The faculty member will be responsible for providing instruction in Healthcare Services and Informatics Administration program, primarily in the area of healthcare data analytics and regulation.
  • The successful candidate will also contribute to departmental initiatives, contribute to curriculum development, and utilize technology to effectively teach in online and on-campus environments.
  • The candidate will also have the potential to establish or continue an active research agenda and provide service to the profession, department, college, and university.
  • The candidate will mentor students in healthcare informatics, healthcare data analytics, and/or healthcare regulatory program requirements.


Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements: Required Qualifications:
  • PhD in healthcare informatics or healthcare related field required
  • Expertise in clinical informatics and healthcare systems required
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Healthcare information technology (HIT), healthcare data analytics, healthcare regulation, and/or regulatory requirements
  • Experience with data analytics software and query technologies used to analyze big data in healthcare

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in application of data science to problems in healthcare and healthcare services
  • Recent experience in clinical healthcare settings
  • Healthcare data analytics experience in the last five (5) years
