Professional Research Assistant - Implementation Manager, Safe Communities Safe Schools

Description:
The Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence (CSPV) within the Institute of Behavioral Sciences at CU Boulder invites applicants for a Professional Research Assistant (PRA) - Implementation Manager for the Safe Communities Safe Schools (SCSS) Project. The SCSS Project is grant funded by the National Institutes of Justice Comprehensive School Safety Initiative (2016-December 2019). Our team is partnering with approximately 46 Colorado schools to help build school teams' capacity to promote positive school climates that are attuned and responsive to the needs of their staff and students. We provide schools with strategies for engaging multi- disciplinary teams, using effective information-gathering tools, and building a multi-tiered system of supports that integrates evidence-based programming.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Oversee implementation of the SCSS Model in multiple middle schools across the Colorado Front Range
o Facilitate meetings with multi-disciplinary school teams using effective individualized strategies
o Effectively communicate with schools (in-person and via email/phone)
o Participate in the development and implementation of individualized School Action Plans (SAPs)
o Conduct regular site visits to schools participating in the project
• Collaborate with a team of professionals at CU Boulder and with other school and community partners
• Promote evidence-based programming and a data-driven approach to building a safe school climate
• Identify and coordinate school's initial and ongoing training, technical assistance and coaching needs
• Help develop tools and processes to enable to use the SCSS model
• Support data collection both school wide from students and staff and with the school team partnering with SCSS
• Clearly articulate (oral/written) information related to project implementation to various audiences including: schools, parents, community stakeholders, grant funders, etc.
• Perform all other duties as requested by senior personnel

Required Competencies and Skills:
• Strong work ethic & self-directed

• Good communication skills (both verbal & written)
• Ability to develop positive relationships among diverse groups of people in various settings
• Familiarity with evidence-based program implementation in school/community settings
• Basic research and organization skills
• Ability to work well and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
• Experience managing datasets and/or with data collection practices (e.g., gathering/tracking data)
• Current driver's license and willingness to use your own vehicle for travel to schools around the Front Range
Highly desired :
o Experience in/with the public school system
o Ability to create aesthetically-pleasing documents using graphic design techniques
o Website management and/or social media experience


Qualifications

Qualifications:
• M.A. in a related field (preferred) or a B.A. in a related field plus one to two years of relevant experience
• Experience in the education field or with program implementation/evaluation

What we offer:
• 100% full-time position with a salary ranging from $50,000-$55,000 commensurate with skills and experience
