Job description

Duties: The Communications Coordinator supports the strategic communications goals and objectives of the School of Design by writing, editing, researching and publishing branded content in print and online, working in collaboration with the Director and PennDesign's five departments, and assisting in the production and promotion of public programs. The Coordinator has primary responsibility for day-to-day operations of PennDesign's website (homepage, calendar, blog, research, resources, directory) and social media accounts; produces and edits copy and images for PennDesign publications, including the School's magazine; performs research to build and maintain internal and external contact lists; manages PennDesign's central image archives and printing; schedules contractors for creative services; processes
payments, purchasing card transactions, and reimbursements using Concur.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Demonstrated ability to research, write, design, and edit accurate and compelling content for highly educated, aspirational audiences (required); fact checking, proofreading and copy-editing skills with great attention to detail (required); experience using Content Management System to publish content to public-facing website (preferred); demonstrated project and time management skills (required); ability to set goals, measure and evaluate success with input from colleagues and supervisor (required); collaborative, forward-looking, problem-solving outlook (required); proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (required); minimum 3 years experience performing administrative and communications duties in office setting (required); interest in architecture, design and/or the arts (preferred); experience in marketing a nonprofit, cultural or educational
institution (preferred). Experience using BEN Financials and Concur a plus.
