GRANTS MANAGER A
Duties: Under the supervision and guidance of the Manager, Administration & Finance, the Grants Manager A, a junior level position, will jointly co-manage with a second Grants Manager A the sponsored program finance and administration of five research centers. This position is ideal for someone seeking to expand beyond his/her current role in pre-award grants management, e.g., budget development, application preparation and assembly, expense allowability and allocability, just-in-time submissions, etc. Applicants currently in a grants coordinator or research financial coordinator role are encouraged to apply for this position. Individuals operating in a pre-award role who have some additional post award administration experience, in addition to pre-award, are preferred. The research centers are the Center for Mental Health Policy and Services Research (4423), the Center for Psychotherapy (4426) the Center for Weight and Eating Disorders (4429), the Penn Center for Women's Behavioral Wellness and Psychopathology Research (4420). The position has control and oversight for sponsored programs budgeting processes, from proposal submission, budget development, forecasting, monitoring of activity, sponsored program financial compliance, progress reporting, financial reporting to account close out for all research centers. Included in the duties are the financial management of the units' sponsored programs pre and post-award budgets, which include federal & state grants, pharmaceutical industry trials, and other non-profit organization awards. The role's duties also include payroll processing for RMO & REG personnel, as well as the review and approval of expenses in Concur TEM as the 'default approver' for the responsible Orgs. The position will train and advise research support staff on sponsored program and fiscal procedures/policies. The role will act as liaison between faculty and various internal and external contacts as it relates to sponsored programs administration. This position reports directly to the senior administrator and has a dotted reporting line to the PSOM Office of Research Support Services.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Good communication and organizational skills are essential. Being able to multi-task in a fast paced environment a plus.
