Advertised Job Summary: Prepare uranium and other compound samples for instrumental analysis using standard powder techniques using a glovebox -40% as needed. Perform experimental measurements and CALPHAD - type calculations of thermochemical/thermophysical properties of systems of interest -30%. Manage research laboratory activity and assist graduate students - 10%. Prepare manuscripts for presentation and publication in professional journal and research reports -10%. Prepare and assist in the preparation of research proposals and Conduct literature searches for technical information - 10%.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or other closely related discipline with experience in materials preparation, analysis, and modeling.
