The Division of Information Technology (DoIT) provides a complete suite of computer technology services to the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a more limited set of services to UW System and other State of Wisconsin departments and agencies. Network Services is a department within DoIT and is responsible for the management, operation and support of the campus network and associated applications. Network Services is comprised of five groups: Campus Network Engineering; WAN (Wide Area Network) Engineering; Infrastructure & Operations; Field Services; and Network Applications.
The Network Applications group is responsible for applications development in support of Network Services, including software used to automate, configure maintain and monitor the network. Network Applications also develops a variety of video and voice applications, as well as interfacing with other groups in support of service delivery. Authorized Agents are campus technical staff who use the Authorized Agent Network Tool Suite (AANTS) to manage the campus-wide network at the school/college/department level and to manage Virtual LANs (VLANs) without direct access to the campus-networking infrastructure.
This position will assist with the migration of the UW-Madison campus from analog Centrex, voicemail, and other related technology to technical and operational support of VoIP, Unified Messaging, call center, currently Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (Unified CCX), as well as potential Unified Communications and related services provided by DoIT Network Services.

* At least one year of work experience in information technology, preferably in VoIP or networking.
* Training and/or work experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (Unified CCX) and related technologies with complex applications.
* Training and/or work experience with networking concepts, principles, and practices, including current trends in the VoIP and Unified Communications industry.
* Knowledge of office productivity software: email, spreadsheets, word processing, calendaring, or others as required.
* Effective relationships with co-workers and customers, including effective methods of written and oral communications.
