Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
One year of experience in an academic or business setting preferred. Experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable: student services, event management, project management, marketing/communications, website design and/or management, budget/financial management, database management/record keeping.
Well-qualified candidates will have:
-Experience and comfort working with multiple constituencies and a commitment to exceptional customer service.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills, flexibility, a sense of humor, and desire to work collaboratively.
-Strong organizational and self-management skills while working in a fast-paced environment; ability to multi-task and complete work in a timely, efficient manner with attention to detail.
-Experience in organizing events and programs, and budget management.
-Ability to learn new technological tools and systems quickly; and ability to critically analyze and synthesize information.
-Cultural competency in working effectively with diverse constituencies.
License or certificate:
The Student Services Associate/Assistant Director for the Graaskamp Center designs, develops, and executes processes related to Center operations, which includes student services, event planning, admissions, marketing and communications, programming for MBA students, and budget management for the Center. This position will be responsible for seeking way to improve efficiency, processes, and procedures of the Graaskamp Center. This individual will work with the Center leadership in managing, coordinating and facilitating the MBA and GREM programs, as well as multiple events and conferences. This position will support the execution of real-world learning opportunities for MBA students including study tours, corporate site visits/tours, and case competitions. As the main point of contact for the Center, this person will interact with MBA students, prospective students, alumni, employers, faculty, External Advisory Board members and university administration. This person will represent the Graaskamp Center and the Wisconsin School of Business at events, committees, conferences, etc.
