The Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto invites applications from qualified individuals for a full-time tenure stream appointment in the Strategic Management area with a specialty in life sciences commercialisation. The appointment will be at the rank of Associate or Full Professor and will commence on or after July 1, 2018. The successful candidate will also be appointed as the Named Chair/Professor in Life Sciences Commercialisation (name yet to be confirmed). The Named Chair will be if appointed at the rank of Full Professor with the Named Professorship at the Associate Professor rank.

The successful candidate must have earned a Ph.D. degree in management, economics or sociology, demonstrated excellence in research in the field of life sciences commercialization or a closely related field such as innovation, entrepreneurship or health management, and demonstrated excellence in teaching. They will be expected to have conducted innovative research that has been published at the highest international level and have an outstanding ongoing research program. The position comes with undergraduate and graduate teaching responsibilities, including courses in entrepreneurship and health innovation. The appointment also includes external engagement, including engagement with policy makers.

Candidates must provide evidence of excellence in research of the highest international caliber, demonstrated by significant and sustained contributions to top international field relevant literature, presentations at significant conferences, and strong recommendations from referees of high international standing. Further support can be provided by other academic accolades or awards, including external funding.

Excellence in teaching should be demonstrated by a teaching dossier submitted as part of the application, as well as strong endorsements from referees, and strong communication and expository skills as evidenced by the working papers submitted as part of the application.

Strongly desired is experience relevant to and willingness to engage with the Rotman School's venture accelerator (the Creative Destruction Lab) and to facilitate cross-departmental linkages with medical and related faculties.

Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
