Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

The sports club coordinator will advise, mentor and instruct sport club officers and participants in gaining life-long skills and enhancing the students' leadership through the programming of club meetings and educational workshops. This position will manage the sport club program in compliance with industry standards and best practices with the goal of providing a safe and meaningful out of the classroom experience.
Primary duties include:
•Risk management liaison for sports clubs
•Ensure safety of facilities and equipment
•Hire, train and schedule sports club assistants and conduct trainings and meetings with sports club assistants
•Advise sport club budget allocation and assist sports clubs with maintaining club budgets to include expenditures and revenue

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Master's degree in Student Services or related field and 1 year related experience, or Bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience.

Requires a variable work schedule which may include early mornings or evenings, as well as weekends and nights, and the ability to attend on and off campus events.

Must possess current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in recreational management or related field.

Experience with student organization/sport club advising and financial management is highly desirable.


Experience in student supervision and sport club advisement/management, conflict resolution and training. Current First Aid/CPR certification.
