Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
Perform assessment and first principles calculations for chemical systems of interest -50%. Manage and assist graduate students – 15%. Prepare manuscripts for presentation and publication in professional journal and research reports – 20%. Prepare and assist in the preparation of research proposals and conduct literature searches for technical information – 15%
Required Education and ExperiencePh.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or other closely related discipline with experience in computational materials modeling.
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesA background in first principles approaches and the CALPHAD method for assessing thermochemistry and phase equilibria. Experimental experience with thermochemical or thermophysical measurements is also valuable.
