Typical work week is Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (9:00 am-6:00 pm). Due to the nature of healthcare and patient load, extended hours (6:00 pm to 7:00 pm) will be required during peak seasons (I.E. October, November, March, April) or earl mornings (7:00 am). Charge nurse may need to fill in on Sundays occasionally Sundays 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
Provide leadership in an outpatient setting in an accredited patient-centered medical home. Provide direction to the nursing staff and certified medical assistants in primary care. Plan, implement and evaluate clinical and administrative processes. Update policies and procedures and lead quality improvement initiatives, ensure continuing clinical education/training of staff and advance electronic health records to enhance patient outcomes. The Charge Nurse will answer and coordinate emergency calls and maintain clinic operations by coordinating services with other departments.
The Charge Nurse will supervise personnel such as registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified medical assistants. Supervisory duties include performance reviews, staff scheduling, and collaborative outreach with campus partners. Provide care under nurse directed protocols. Assists physicians and other providers in examinations, treatments and procedures.
Master's degree and 2 years experience, or bachelor's degree in nursing from accredited school of nursing and 4 years experience or diploma from accredited school of nursing and 5 years experience. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing. Eligible for South Carolina nursing license as a registered nurse. CPR and ACLS certification.
Preferred QualificationsExperience working within a patient-centered medical home. At least 2 years of experience in a nursing leadership role with advancing responsibilities. Comfortable working in electronic medical records. Excellent communication skill, both written and verbal. Works well in a care-team environment with multiple professionals. Ability to multitask. Experience in addressing health and mental health concerns of the adolescent population. Individual must be enthusiastic and energetic and be able to provide nursing care in a busy ambulatory care setting.
Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesKnowledge of the principles, practices, theories and techniques of nursing and nursing supervision, current trends in continuing quality improvement. Knowledge of planning and budgeting methods. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to plan, organize, supervise, direct and evaluate the work of other employees. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
