Primary responsibilities
40% - Hotel Learning Center component units' budget, financial and cash analysis, financial reports, financial audit and business transactions:
-Complete financial analysis for the [email protected] Metro, Inc. cash flow, cash management and ensure timely payments of bonds' P&I. Monitor the bond market closely.
-Coordinate the Board of Directors meeting and management reports for [email protected], Inc.
-Complete required monthly journal entries, manage reconciliation of all bank accounts and transfers (Waterfall) to the Foundation, and compile the financial statements.
-Coordinate the [email protected], Inc. annual financial audit. Work closely with financial auditors to ensure the annual audit is completed on time and smoothly.
-Manage the financial transactions for HLC component unit in compliance with FASB standards. This includes creation and maintenance of its Chart of Accounts.
-Work closely with the Sage Accounting and Manage/compile various monthly and quarterly management reports to the Budget Director and Associate VP of Administration Branch for projected and actual revenue generated by the HLC.
-Coordinate with the Accounting Services and the Foundation to follow up on the revenue transfers to the Foundation; to ensure it is in compliance with the MOU among Metropolitan State College of Denver Foundation, Inc., [email protected], Inc., the Metropolitan State College of Denver Roadrunner Recovery and Reinvestment Act Finance Authority, and Metropolitan State College of Denver. Update any MOU as necessary.
60% - Assist the Budget Director in various areas including:
-Assist with implementing the cost of education and Activity Based Costing/Budgeting to implement both the short term and long term financial planning for the University's budget.
-Assist with various financial analysis and preparing pro-forma financials for new initiatives.
-Prepare or review budget journal entries during the fiscal year as needed.
-Backup for the Banner Budget Roll and other tasks in the Budget Office especially during the fiscal year-end process.
-Provide budget and financial analysis for the campus academic and administrative departments within established budget policies, accounting, and fiscal rules and practices including following all state and federal requirements.
-External and Internal financial reporting; assist the Budget Director in the research, analysis and preparation of the various internal financial reports and for the Colorado Commission on Higher Education (CHE) as well as Joint Budget Committee (JBC).
- Work closely with the Budget Director to ensure our lobbyist have the information they need during the Legislation active sessions.

Required Qualifications
1) Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other closely related field;
2)Three years experience conducting budget management and using general accounting standards developing budget and financial reports.
3) At least three years of experience utilizing Microsoft Software ( Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and Outlook) or related software.

Preferred Qualifications
1) Three years of accounting or budget experience with an public institution of higher education
OR Three years of Accounting experience for non-for-profit entities.
2) Experience and understanding the fundamentals of debt financing, derivatives and monitoring the market for the [email protected], Inc.
3) Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and a record of building effective internal and external work relationships
