Assistant Professor of Mathematics
The Mathematics Department at Tusculum invites applicants for a fulltime teaching position. Candidates should be passionate educators who can facilitate the needs of diverse learners. Candidates should demonstrate a mastery of their specific discipline ;a deep commitment to the College mission of providing a liberal arts education with pathways for career preparation, personal development, and civic engagement; technological competencies; teaching/advising skills and strategies that facilitate 21st century literacies; effective usages of resources that prepare students for productive lives; and using various educational technological mediums. Additional responsibilities will likely include advising students, committee work, and participation in achieving departmental initiatives. Tusculum places special importance on helping under-prepared students achieve academic success .Salary is negotiable and dependent upon education and experience. The anticipated start date is fall 2018.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must have a Master's degree in Mathematics in-hand by time of appointment. Strong preference will be given to candidates with a PhD in Mathematics or a related discipline and experience teaching undergraduate general Mathematics courses. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with department members to ensure student success. Preferably, the candidate will experience in the facilitation of online courses.
