General Summary: The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Teaching Assistant for the Steps to College Summer Program. The Teaching Assistant will assist the teachers, office assistant, and director of Steps to College with day-to-day operations and in-class activities. Supervise and mentor students, help with lessons, and complete daily clerical tasks.

This position will begin 05/14/18 and will end 06/29/18.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: The Teaching Assistant will:

  • Supervise students from buses, to class, to lunch, and around campus
  • Candidate will participate in class sessions and assist teachers as directed.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the assigned classroom; support teachers and students with technical issues
  • Collaborate w/ participating school systems as directed

Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • High school graduate. Must be currently enrolled in college. Current UNG students preferred.
  • Education majors preferred
  • Experience working with youth in out-of-school academic programs or out-of-school programming is preferred.
  • Proficiency w/ word processing
  • Spanish fluency preferred.
