The Department of Family Medicine has an opening for a full-time, University Staff (unclassified) Clinical Affairs Program Manager (Health Care Program Manager) position.

Jobs in this career family are responsible for performing a wide range of professional duties to support the university's teaching, research and/or service missions through the provision of health and wellness services, dealing with general, indirect patient care operations and management of healthcare services. Functions include hospital administration, healthcare regulatory compliance, patient relations, operational services, admissions, and medical records. Includes professional assignments in medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, counseling and behavioral health, public health, dietetics and nutrition, other allied health fields, alternative medicine and therapies, and related disciplines.
Program Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operation of a program, function or work unit, including the Development and implementation of processes consistent with college, school or departmental strategies and processes. These positions typically do not supervise others.
The Department of Family Medicine is seeking applications for a Clinical Affairs Program Manager. This full-time, University Staff (unclassified) position will partner with Faculty Program Directors to oversee the following clinical specialty programs and their related operations within the Department of Family Medicine: Sports Medicine, Addiction Medicine, Family Medicine Service, Palliative Care/Hospice Medicine, Behavioral Health, and integrated care team services. This role will serve as the operational contact for CU Medicine community-based primary care practices and will facilitate the marketing and promotion of Family Medicine clinics by working with CU Medicine, UCHealth and the department's Communications Director to ensure accurate, timely information is readily available for all providers.
This Program Manager will provide data and financial analysis needed for operational, management, and strategic decisions; review monthly/quarterly program financial reports; assist with developing individual and specialty program profit and loss analysis with finance; and support and help aggregate annual program budgets. This position will oversee financial reconciliations including faculty and staff allocations for payer and other external value-based agreements and report on key clinical program outcomes for assigned programs/initiatives, as well as oversee billing, CPT and coding updates; train and work with data analytics/liaison to run reports; perform audits with CU Medicine's support; and report information to clinics. This role will provide recommendations along with CU Medicine on billing/coding optimization (copays, registration, payer coverage, and new experimental services) and handle patient billing complaints with CU Medicine and UCHealth. The Clinical Affairs Program Manager will oversee physician support services for assigned programs, attend clinical leadership and other related meetings.
Additionally this role will assist with recruitment, retention and operational management processes for clinical faculty, including tracking FTE changes, tracking Medicaid/Medicare numbers and communications, NPI and provider number management, and handle Imminent Suspension monitoring, correspondence distribution, notification and resolution.
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.
Salary and Benefits:
The hiring salary for this position has been established at $70,00 - $75,000 and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

- A bachelor's degree in business, finance, healthcare management, human services, social work, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- The position requires extensive, diverse and progressively responsible experience at the management level, including direct responsibility for ambulatory primary care clinical business management/operations, including payer contracts, billing and information systems, and quality improvement.
Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis, but not for the specific experience.
- Master's degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field from an accredited institution.
- Primary care experience with practice transformation (i.e., PCMH, Care by Design) and population health management.
- Academic health system experience is preferred.
