Primary Function of Organization Unit: The largest department in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, English offers a range of undergraduate majors and concentrations, minors, and graduate programs. We also offer many courses of interest to the University community as a whole, and we work with other departments and programs ; such as Foreign Languages and Literatures, Women's Studies, Communication, Education ; to furnish multidisciplinary opportunities for NC State students.
Essential Job Duties: The Department of English is accepting applications for the position of Lecturer on a full-time and/or part-time basis in areas such as Composition, Literature, Linguistics, Film, Creative Writing and Professional Writing for Summer 2019, Fall 2018 and Spring 2019. These positions are short term, non-tenure track appointments. Candidates will be hired as Lecturer based on credentials and qualifications.
Minimum Education/Experience: A Master's degree in a relevant field and experience teaching writing at the college level are required. Degree must be obtained prior to start date.
Department Required Skills: A demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. Strong communication skills.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Special training or experience with online or blended instruction is desirable. Graduate coursework in writing pedagogy preferred.
