Job description

Duties: A full-time Research Specialist position will be available in May or June in the Department of Microbiology within the laboratory of Dr. Michela Locci. The research goal of the laboratory is to elucidate the immunobiology of T follicular helper (Tfh) cells and antibody responses in health and disease. The Research Specialist will perform basic immunology experiments using cell cultures, in vivo mouse models and analysis of samples by ELISA, histology and flow cytometry. Additionally, the work will include general laboratory maintenance duties. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, able to work efficiently, carefully record and organize experiments, sustain independent projects as well as work as a member of a team. Experience with confocal microscopy is a plus.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in immunology or a related field and 0 to 1 year of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience required. Laboratory experience required. Prior experience with or fast-paced learning of a broad range of immunology and cellular biology laboratory techniques required. A strong interest in immunology, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and desire to learn new techniques is required. Experience with confocal microscopy is preferred.
