Advertised Job Summary
The Department of Exercise Science in the Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a clinical assistant/associate faculty position in the Athletic Training Program to begin in August 2018. This is a non-tenure track/clinical position with responsibilities in both the professional and post-professional Athletic Training Programs. Successful candidates will have an earned doctoral degree in a field relevant to the position, evidence of effectiveness as an instructor, and previous teaching experience in a CAATE-accredited Athletic Training Program. The position is a 9-month academic year appointment with opportunities for summer salary. The salary is commensurate with experience.Required Education and Experience
Minimum requirements include an earned doctorate or clinical doctorate in sports medicine, athletic training, or related field, and BOC certification with eligibility for South Carolina state certification.Preferred Qualifications
Preferred requirements include: record of teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level (expertise in therapeutic intervention, pharmacology is preferred but not required); experience as a preceptor for a CAATE-accredited AT Program; knowledge of CAATE processes and requirements; and academic/research mentoring and sitting on Master's students' projects/thesis committees.
