Sponsored Research Administration
This entry level position will advise and assist faculty and staff in pre-award and post-award non-financial sponsored research, instruction and public service activities from public sources. Such activities associated with this position include, but are not limited to: proposal preparation, review, submission and tracking; negotiating basic agreements, contracts and awards with external sponsors; project programmatic close-out; preparing official communications; and other basic level special projects as assigned.
Proposal preparation, review, submission and tracking of sponsored research, instruction, and public service activities from public sources. Negotiate basic agreements by serving as the primary liaison with funding/sponsoring agencies. Review subrecipient documents and determine contract/vendor relationship. Accept award and coordinate post-award non-financial activities. Maintain regular contact with principal investigators, deans, chairs, departmental administrators, and funding agency officials regarding interpretation and application of contract and grant documents, policies, and procedures relative thereto.
Coordinate project programmatic close-outs. Prepare official communications to faculty and sponsors. Input data including proposal workflow and award acceptance, agency proposal submission and post award non-financial requests. Set up project files.
Assist the senior staff with basic level special projects as assigned.
Bachelor's degree and 2 years experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to 6 years.
Experience with attention to detail, meeting project deadlines and working independently.
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook or equivalent software.
Ability to comprehend and interpret state, federal, and sponsoring agencies rules, regulations, policies, and laws regarding sponsored research.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and to interact with people at all levels diplomatically, tactfully, and professionally.

Soft Money Funded Position
This is a soft money funded position, with renewal based on available funds and the needs of the University.
If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5.
Criminal Background Check
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
