The director, student and post graduate support services provides leadership and direction to undergraduate and graduate programs to implement enhancements that further the University’s goals and objectives. Additionally, the incumbent plans, develops, administers, and coordinates all student related functions, services, and events.

Job Description

Administers the department’s budget and monitors expenditures. Hires, supervises, trains, evaluates, and disciplines subordinate staff members. Develops and implements long-term and short-term program objectives. Maintains current knowledge and ensures compliance of all federal, state, local, and University policies and regulations. Prepares publications, and researches and plans special projects. Represents the University of Miami in professional activities of regional and national associations. Assures prompt responses to inquiries concerning programs and services. Directs the tracking, updating, and entering of data for services related surveys. Prepares all program statistical and financial reports. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Establishes, maintains, and implements procedures for admissions and enrollment, retention, academic progress, and graduation requirements.

  • Develops, manages, and maintains admissions tracking systems to follow inquiries through admissions.

  • Oversees and organizes each semester's registrations activities to provide continuity in work flow.

  • Plans and coordinates application retention events and recruitment events.

  • Assists in the development of recruiting strategy.

  • Ensures that all departmental staff have accurate and current information on graduate admissions policies and programs.

  • Collaborates with lead faculty and associate deans on a semester bases to determine the programs that will be offered and work flow demands.

  • Works with the business office to determine the tuition that will be charged based on major codes.

  • Evaluates the department effectiveness in its enrollment and registration procedures, making recommendation and adjustments as needed.

  • Collects, produces and evaluates reports using Timetrade, PIDMS, Typhon, CollegeNet and other tracking systems to conduct admissions, enrollment, retention and recruitment analysis.
  • Requirements: Bachelor's degree and 3 years of work related experience.
