The Assistant Vice President of Investments and Treasury, is a member of the Office of the Investments and Treasury team and reports to the Associate Vice President and Treasurer. This person oversees treasury functions for the University including banking and bank relationships, cash management, debt management, student accounts receivable and collections, corporate and merchant cards. The position works closely with the Associate Vice President and Treasurer and Vice President and CFO on liquidity, debt management, Investments management, capital budgeting and project/facilities business plans.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for debt and cash management for the University of Miami
  • Manages Treasury Operations which includes Cash Management, Student Accounts, Collections, Corporate Cards
  • Evaluates cash and liquidity needs; oversees daily cash operations and investment of working capital
  • Assists in the management of the Growth Pool / Endowment and Pension assets
  • Prepares reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis of liquidity needs
  • Develops budgets, capital and financing plans
  • Negotiates and manages banking lines of credit
  • Provides leadership on public debt offerings
  • Manages bank relationships; negotiates bank fees, bank loans
  • Maintains relationships with investment bankers, financial advisors and bond counsel
  • Monitors student accounts and loans receivables and oversees their operations
  • Ensures regulatory compliance for all areas of responsibility
  • Performs cost and financial analysis on business plans prior to project approval
  • Develops and makes presentations to trustees and key constituents
  • Manages all personnel actions including hiring, performance appraisal, staff development

Qualifications:

  • Masters of Business Administration or advanced degree in Finance. CPA or CTP strongly preferred


Experience Requirements:

  • Ten (10) years related experience in university business and finance, banking or corporate finance
