Assistant to the VP/CIO
The College of New Jersey is searching for an Assistant to the Vice President and Chief Information Officer. The Assistant provides administrative support to the VP/CIO and the IT staff. A "right hand" to the Vice President and CIO, the Assistant works independently and has responsibility for office administration, budget coordination, information gathering, tracking and analysis, and the highest level of customer service to, and support of internal and external stakeholders.
The Information Technology Division (IT) has 55 employees, and is comprised of six business units including: Business and Computer Operations, Enterprise Infrastructure, Enterprise Application, Information Security, Multimedia Technical Support Services and User Support Services.
Required Education and Experience
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one year of related professional experience; working with and tracking budgets; managing appointment calendars and typing correspondence and reports; experience and competency with Microsoft office suite and Google app, and experience providing excellent customer service in a professional office environment are required.
- At least three years of progressively responsible experience in a similar position

This is a competitive Civil Service position with the state title, Professional Services Specialist 4 and is included in membership in the Communication Workers of America (CWA) bargaining union. The starting salary for this position is Range 18, step 3, $47,837.00. Salary for an internal candidate will be determined in accordance with Civil Service rules.
