Brief Summary of Work for this Position:
Provides overall business and fiscal management for the Office of International Programs. Ensures compliance with state personnel policies and procedures and federal grant guidelines, as well as the policies and procedures required by this university. Manages processes associated with international study abroad and UNCW faculty-led programs, including enrollment of students (UNCW and others), tuition and or fee receipts, and ensuring that student credit hours are appropriately reflected. Works with students to make sure all financial documents are in place with regard to the education abroad program, including legal and insurance issues. Interacts with students, staff and faculty. Represents the department across campus as necessary.

N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or related business area and two years of administrative management or business management experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position:
Requires knowledge of the relationship of other currencies with regard to the US Dollar
Ability to analyze, interpret, and write policy and procedural guidelines
Ability to identify, analyze, and evaluate problems and implement appropriate course of action independently
Must have a high level of skill in organizing workflow and coordinating activities to provide efficiency in operations
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with university administrators, associates, officials, state agencies and the general public
Ability to practice effective communication techniques both orally and in writing including the ability to coordinate a variety of resources in gathering information and working independently to answer inquiries
Ability to assemble and present data through available reporting tools
General Knowledge of personnel, purchasing, and accounting practices and procedures
Ability to plan and direct fiscal business services and personnel management
Ability to work effectively independently, and in a collaborative team-oriented environment
Ability to work with various departments across campus
Proficiency in software programs
Ability to manage and supervise employees including students

Preferred education, professional skills and experience:
Knowledge of managerial requirements pertinent to public higher education
Extensive knowledge of University procedures and guidelines covering budget development, personnel and salary related issues, SRCI flexibility requirements and the general lines of authority within a University.
Experience working at a service level that requires coordination between and among peers, and subordinates is desirable
Previous demonstrated successful experience of three to five years in a public institution (preferably in higher education) in a mid-management role handling significant budget and personnel responsibilities could be substituted for formal education
Master’s degree in accounting, business administration, public administration, or related field

Recruitment Range: $52,000 - $61,849
NC Salary Grade Equivalency: 73
Hours Per Week: 1.0 (40 hours per week)
