WUTV is a public access, educational station that serves as an experiential learning lab for Mass Communications majors, particularly those concentrating in Convergence Journalism and Digital Media & Telecommunication. The temporary Production Coordinator provides instructional support and secondary supervision of applied learning opportunities for skills courses related to aforementioned concentrations; assist with day-to-day operation of student-produced and student-managed newscast, primarily assisting students with editing and operating studio- field equipment in all three stages of the production process—pre-production, production, and post production; and assist with guiding newscast production ; trains, mentors, and supervises student staff; and acts as a liaison between the WUTV General Manager student staff. This is a temporary 20 hours a week position that begins approximately April 2, 2018 and ends June 29, 2018.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications required or related field or Audio/Visual Production Certification required; a minimum of two years experience in television news; experience with control room hardware or experience with film pre-production, production, and post production. A minimum of one year of experience utilizing 2015 Adobe Premiere, Adobe In Design and Adobe Photoshop. Familiar with specialized control room hardware and or control room specialized systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Audio/Visual Production; a minimum of one year of television news; experience with control room hardware or film pre-production, production, and post production . A minimum of two years of professional experience utilizing 2015 Adobe Suite Creative Software; a minimum of one years’ experience operating specialized systems such as TelVue and NewTek TriCaster.
Salary
16.15 per hour
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
Ability to lift/carry up to 50lbs. of equipment for extended periods of time.
Ability to stoop, climb ladders, and occasionally work in inclement weather
