The School of Social Sciences and Professional Studies at Ferrum College is currently seeking to appoint a tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor of Business.  The Business program at Ferrum College is innovative and interdisciplinary, and is one of the largest at the college.  The Business program works particularly closely with the Accounting and Computer Information Systems programs.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take a lead role in this program and develop courses in his/her area of expertise as we continue to explore and develop new and relevant areas of focus such as Data Analytics and Health Care Management as part of a strategic vision.  The candidate will also help guide the program in preparation for ACBSP accreditation as well as in the development of graduate degree programs.  The successful candidate will be expected to have a Ph.D. or DBA in Business or a related field, and possess expertise and/or experience in data analytics/management/marketing or related areas. The ability to teach a range of courses is expected. A demonstrated record of college teaching experience is highly desirable. 

Responsibilities: TEACHING: The dynamic faculty member will teach courses in Business Policy, Investments, Management Science, Personal Finance, and other elective and core courses in the Business curriculum (available at: http://www.ferrum.edu/socialsciences/business-administration/).  Our faculty serve as mentors and advisors to our students, and supervise internships.  All candidates must provide evidence of ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate level and possess a commitment to a robust liberal studies education. SCHOLARSHIP: A successful candidate will provide evidence of scholarship, publication, and/or presentation activity through appropriate professional venues and involvement in scholarly projects with faculty and students. SERVICE: Our faculty fully participate in leadership activities and fulfill leadership roles pertaining to faculty governance at the College-wide, School, Program, and disciplinary level.
