Job Summary

The Office Assistant will provide support for the Fire District's daily office operations including: data entry, photocopying and scanning documents, filing, various computer projects using Microsoft Office Tools, inventorying items, collecting mail, answering and transferring phone calls. Periods of extended computer use may be required; other duties as assigned.

Functional Attributes of Job Duty

This position requires work in office areas and fire station settings. The position is at Platte Valley Fire Department where there may be periods of loud noises, continuous radio dispatch, moments of high stress. While applicant will not be directly involved in firefighting duties, work will be performed in the same building as firefighters, EMS, and other emergency personnel. May have contact with public and community, so a high degree of professionalism is required. The major portion of this position will involve sedentary, administrative work in an office environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Proficiency in keyboarding and Microsoft Office programs. Detail oriented, have good spelling and communication skills. Commitment to handling documents, files, inventory in a responsible and confidential manner. Must be reliable, courteous, and polite.
