Requisition Title: Assistant Professor - Orthopaedic Surgery - 1702229

The Department of Surgery, Division of Orthopaedics at Sinai Health System, Toronto, Ontario, is inviting applications for the position of an academic Orthopaedic Arthroplasty Surgeon. This is a full-time faculty appointment.

The effective date of this appointment is tentatively set for August 1, 2018.

We seek a fully licensed surgeon with fellowship training in primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty. The candidate must be comfortable managing primary and complex revision hip and knee arthroplasty cases as well as provide management of fracture and trauma patients. A Masters level degree in Quality Improvement would be ideal.

We seek a surgeon with an interest in academic practice. Evidence of excellence in teaching and research is required. The successful candidate should ideally possess strong leadership skills, professionalism and an ability to work in a team. The candidate must be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

The Division of Orthopaedics is comprised of 7 full-time clinical faculty members, within multiple Programs, offering clinical care in the areas of lower extremity reconstruction, orthopaedic oncology and sports medicine.

Salary will be based on a fee for service model using the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP).
