JOB DETAILS:

POSITION: A full-time, professional academic staff position is available in Housing & Residence Life beginning July 1, 2018. The working title for this assignment is Assistant Director for Operations with an official title in the Program Manager I title series. This is a renewable assignment, contingent on performance. The salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is required. Also required are 2 years of post-bachelor’s work experience with evidence of increasing levels of responsibility; excellent written and oral communication skills; demonstrated supervision, project coordination and management, and customer service experience; ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure; ability to create and maintain a program budget. Applicants shall provide evidence of professional development, and work initiatives in the areas of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: The following qualifications may be considered an asset:

A master’s degree in a related filed; experience in facilities management, including work order management, small and large renovation projects, and equipment inventory and ordering; advanced training in customer service delivery; leading staff training and professional development; risk management; event planning ; front desk and security operations.

DUTIES:
  • Serve on administrative leadership team (Central Staff) of Housing & Residence Life
  • Supervise professional graduate and student staff.
  • Provide project coordination and liaison work with Division of Facilities Management.
  • Coordinate residence hall refurbishment and renewal
  • Coordinate residence hall summer camps and conference program
  • Provide administrative oversight for all front desk and security operations for 15 buildings
  • Recruit and supervise break Housing staff for Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring Breaks.
  • Coordinate all aspects of Fall Move-In and Spring Move-Out of the residence halls
  • Lead purchasing and bid preparation efforts for purchases in Housing & Residence Life
  • Other duties as assigned


THE UNIT: The unit of Housing & Residence Life consists of 25 professional and graduate staff who provide a quality living experience for approximately 4000 students. The unit operates 15 residence hall facilities, that vary in size from 50 to 650 students. Functional areas inside the unit include Residence Life, Operations, Leadership and Education and Business.
