Posting Summary:
The University of Virginia invites applications for a one-year postdoctoral appointment in the Bioethics Program starting August 25, 2018, through May 24, 2019. We are seeking applicants trained within a critical bioethics perspective, the anthropology of ethics, medical anthropology, or similar fields. The position may be renewed for a second year, based on performance and the availability of funds. The successful candidate will teach one course in the fall and two courses in the spring, with the balance of duties comprised of research on one's own project, and service to the Bioethics Program.

Applicants must have a PhD in hand at the time of application; or they may be scheduled to defend not later than May 1, 2018, so long as they hold the degree by June 15, 2018. Compensation will take the form of full-time salary with full-time benefits. Applications will be considered beginning April 12, 2018, however the position will remain open until filled. Interviews with finalists will be conducted over Skype.
